Krakow (Sept 5th - 9th, 2003)

On Sept. 5th 2003, I took the EC76 COMENIUS train out of Bratislava, into the Czech republic and the town of Breclav, and from there the EC204 train to Glowny station, Krakow, in Poland. I met a few interesting people on the train, as we passed through the Polish countryside. I wished that I had time to venture into the Tatra mountains on the Slovak/Polish border.

Krakow has a huge and bustling central market square lined with an infinite variety of outdoor cafes and restaurants.

Krakow has its very own castle on a hill, Wavel castle. It's guarded by a dragon.

In Rochester we found a decent cafe with outdoor seating on a warm afternoon, where we drank coffee and worked on mathematics. Dinner at Mark's Texas Hots (french dip and garbage-plate-equivalent -- more on that later), and then a reservoir on a hill, and geese in a pond.
