More nerdy highway numbers

From a post in the roadgeek newsgroup misc.transport.road:
  • SD/ND 1804 and SD/ND 1806 in the Dakotas which follow the Missouri River, so numbered for the years Lewis and Clark passed through the area.

  • NM 2001 in Alamogordo, which goes to the International Space Hall of Fame.

  • NM 6563 in Sunspot, which according to Steve Riner's site is numbered for the wavelength, 6563 Angstroms, of the Balmer hydrogen transition of sunlight (whatever that is). [sic] The road serves an observatory.

ECV Event

Tomorrow is Emperor Norton Day, and E. Clampus Vitus ("E Clampus Vitus is either the oldest drinking historical society or the oldest historical drinking society, take your pick." ECV also claims credit for the famous and long-unexposed hoax concerning Sir Francis Drake's discovery of San Francisco Bay.) will be celebrating with a trip to Norton's Grave. I think it might be worth the early morning to make it to Colma at 09:00.. anyone else interested in going?
