attempted night photography

Last night I set out with a tripod and my digital camera to try to capture some of the ambiance of Normal Heights. I'm pretty happy with the above photo. Those below are just to show you the liveliness at Lestat's on a Monday night at about 11pm.

The motionblur from a passing auto is probably a bug rather than a feature in the following picture, but this long exposure stuff is still quite novel to me. (-:

Lestat's, by the way, is an awesome 24 hour coffeeshop located in the Adams Ave business district of Normal Heights. They have open mic night on Mondays which is quite good. Not too much seating inside, though. For that you have to go to Claire de Lune, which is not too far away. All of this is catalogued on the SanDiego BerkeleyGuide.
