2004 ICFP Programming Contest

The ICFP contest has started and will run over the weekend. The programming challenge has been posted, and it looks like it has something to do with developing an artificial intelligence for simulated ants.

Are you entering? I might attempt to do so...

I'm thinking I'll look at the task description after work today.. if it seems tractable, I think it would be fun to hack together a minimal solution. (-: what language do you think you'd use? perhaps we could collaborate.

Yeah, if it's tractable, I'd be down. I'm going to a show tonight and won't be home until around midnight or 1am, but I can hack it then (I don't sleep much).

What language would you prefer to use? I know Scheme and Java (read: 61A and 61B knowledge) and have some experience with Perl and Python. Even if you'd much rather write it in a different language, I can help with the design or the ideas.

I got together with 2 other Berkeley CS kids, we're doing it in Java (eek). Send me an email at natan@mac.com if you're interested.
