Oh, Tobin. You were supposed to take CS 174 with me so that I could know somebody in the class, and we could encourage each other to do our work and not get horribly behind. And now look at you! Look at us! We're both failing! Only I didn't just get accepted to graduate school! This is all your fault! Everything is your fault! Everything, you schmuck! All of it!

hmm. i'm actually thinking about taking 174 and/or 172 next semester. i hear both the professors will be very good. karp for 174, sinclair for 172. any suggestions?

I had Karp for 174 last semester and enjoyed the class. Some other people complained that it wasn't quite what they were expecting. As for 172, friends of mine who normally dislike theory claim to have really liked it, but I haven't taken it yet since nobody good has taught it for a while. If you're into theory, it might be worth taking them both at once, since the period of the "good professor/less good professor" cycle is sometimes longer than it should be.
