prize
Hey, I won a prize! The "Breakthrough Prize" -- which I had never heard of before, but which is being touted as some kind of new Nobel Prize -- was just awarded to the three inventors of LIGO and the 1000 authors of the discovery paper. My share of the prize is approx $2000.
I want to donate it... Who would be a worthy and impactful recipient? Something about STEM education.

I recommend the Summer Science Program. http://www.summerscience.org/
A woman I know via a professional group has this to say about SSP: "$2,000 is a fair chunk of sponsoring a student to attend, or about half of an entire summer of bringing in guest speakers! It's an observational astronomy program, hits gender parity in students, and is working on increasing other forms of diversity. (I'm an alumna, former guest speaker, now on Board of Trustees.)"
